Overview

Welcome to our Research Group “Tomography of Nano-Structured Materials”, as part of the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)- program in the Division of Physical Sciences at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology established after the inauguration of the University in September 2009.

Our research focuses on such topics including thermodynamics and phase separation in metallic Nano-structured Materials and Thin Films; particularly we are interested in segregation effects along grain and interface boundaries. For this purpose we apply (in addition to the standard metallurgical analysis methods) ultra-high resolution analytical experimental methods, such as Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Atom Probe Tomography (APT) to explore the atomic arrangements in the crystallographic lattice within a nanometer scale.

We are active members of the International Field Emission Society (IFES).
